Job Title: Accreditation and Ranking Specialist

Reporting Line: Executive Director for Quality & Institutional Performance

Location: Muscat, Oman (some local travel may be required)

Job Summary

The Accreditation and Ranking Specialist will be responsible for accreditation (both national and international) and ranking initiatives. He/she is expected to manage all aspects to obtain accreditations and enhance MU ranking.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Enhance understanding of accreditation and ranking requirements and prepare a clear timeline for each project.
  2.  necessary gap analysis and reviews, and provide action plans as deemed necessary
  3. Guide Muscat University to ensure compliance with the ranking and accrediting bodies (e.g QS ranking, Times Higher Education, ABET, AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS, etc..)
  4. Manage the collection and review of the required materials to meet accreditation and ranking standards.
  5. Collaborate with the relevant faculties/departments to prepare the accreditation and ranking documentation, and report progress to the MU management in a timely manner.
  6. Prepare the required portfolios and submit accreditation and ranking documentation within the timeframe.
  7. Prepare reports on relevant areas as required.
  8. Any other duties relevant to this job as assigned by management.

Qualifications:              

An MBA or another relevant degree with at least 3 years of experience in internal accreditation processes, such as ABET, AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS, and other relevant accrediting bodies. Strong understanding of various ranking mythologies and experience with ranking submissions.

Skills and Competencies:

  1. Solid knowledge and understanding of quality standards with regards to both national and international accreditation and ranking bodies.
  2.  Ability to communicate, collect, manage and report on complex data and information.
  3. High levels of numeracy skills.
  4. Experience in project management skills.

  1. Ability to build and maintain professional and constructive working relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

Work Environment:    

Environment: Primarily office based. The role involves close collaboration with academic faculties and administrative departments in a dynamic, fast-paced higher education setting.
