Job Summary
|
The ACCA Instructor is tasked with instructing, mentoring, and directing students in their preparation for ACCA certification. The instructor will develop course materials, conduct engaging lectures, and offer support to students to facilitate their success in passing ACCA examinations. The instructor must possess comprehensive knowledge of ACCA modules, accounting principles, and the capability to elucidate intricate financial concepts into comprehensible lessons. |
Key Duties and Responsibilities |
1. Teaching and Instruction: o Provide compelling, interactive, and informative lectures for ACCA modules including Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Corporate and Business Law, Financial Reporting, among others. o Develop and deliver course content in accordance with the ACCA examination syllabus and educational objectives. o Utilise actual case studies, examples, and accounting methodologies to simplify concepts and enhance comprehension. o Facilitate online or in-person classes, modifying instructional techniques according to students' requirements. 2. Curriculum Development: o Develop, update, and revise course materials, study notes, and presentation slides to ensure conformity with modifications in the ACCA syllabus. o Develop mock examinations, quizzes and practice exercises to equip students for ACCA assessments. o Ensure that the instructional material is current, precise, and representative of contemporary trends in accounting, finance, and regulations. 3. Student Support and Mentorship: o Offer direction, critique, and mentorship to students to guarantee their comprehension of essential concepts and their preparedness for examinations. o Provide assistance in resolving past examination papers, addressing challenging topics, and clarifying uncertainties in both individual and group contexts. o Monitor and assess students' progress, identifying any deficiencies in knowledge or areas requiring enhancement.
4. Exam Preparation: o Assist students in formulating efficient study plans and strategies for achieving success in the ACCA examination. o Evaluate examination techniques, time management strategies, and ensure students are acquainted with examination formats and ACCA standards. o Conduct revision sessions and examination-oriented workshops to enhance students' confidence and knowledge prior to assessments. 5. Continuous Professional Development: o Remain updated on modifications to the ACCA syllabus, advancements in the industry, accounting standards (such as IFRS), and optimal practices in finance and education. o Engage in pertinent professional development activities, seminars, and workshops to enhance pedagogical techniques and remain up-to-date. 6. Administrative Duties: o Preserve documentation of student attendance, performance, and advancement. o Engage in faculty meetings, contribute to curriculum planning sessions, and offer feedback to enhance program delivery. o Coordinate with academic administration to ensure the timely resolution of all examination results, student grievances, and instructional matters. |
Qualifications: |
· ACCA Qualification: Attainment of full ACCA membership or affiliate status. · Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (Master’s degree is advantageous). · Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 to 5 years of practical experience in accounting, auditing, or finance. · Teaching Experience: Previous experience in instructing ACCA or other accounting certifications (e.g., CIMA, CPA) is desirable. · Comprehensive understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and pertinent accounting regulations. · Acquainted with ACCA examination formats, question categories, and levels of difficulty. |

Work Environment: |
· Classroom-Based/Online: The instructor may be obligated to teach in-person, online, or in a hybrid format, contingent upon the institution's structure. · Flexible Hours: Certain roles may necessitate evening or weekend classes, especially for part-time students. |
